DC is a wonderful city. You can ride your bicycle or rent one per hour and get to all the monuments and museums for free. Also walking around we discover the Fish Market by the shore and the Marine Barracks, now a residential area but full of bars and restaurants.
Going to Washington DC I find out the most of the population is color one. Had an interesting conversation about feeling how is like to be a minority. Remember that in China even If I was a white girl I did not feel different but in DC I did. Maybe the approach to a new city was different in my mind because in reality none one cares and shouldn’t care anyway. Got a bike tour and visit with my friend all the monument that inspire the Americans. My favorite ones were Jefferson Memorial and Lincoln, who I found out I was not the only one cause you can find him everywhere around the city.
You can see the Washington Monument from different parts of the city but my favorite one was in front of the Lincoln Memorial, and couldn’t kept shouting in my mind “Jennyyyyy … Forestttt” (Forest Gum gig)
You think in the capital and you think in the White house, with snappers on the roof top but there it was. The white house! We even pass it by without realizing it was there. So many monuments and things to sightsee.
Took a tour inside Capitol Hill, the building of the legislative and judicial branches of the U.S. government, home to the United States Congress, the Senate and the House of Representatives, that is open to the public as a hall of History. I enjoy the presence of more woman being recognize in statues, or novel prizes that people don’t even know about them. A must to be able to see in the History of the States.
Norman Borlaug , who save as many as 1billion people from hunger, by creating a type of wheat that was resistant to disease.
